The Tower Hotel, Harwich is a hotel and restaurant, with Rigbys, a Beatles-themed Wine Bar. The restaurant and bar are open to both guests and non-residents. Built in 1885, in the Italian style, as a private residence, the main feature of this imposing building is the attractive tower at its northeast corner. It has a wealth of ornamental ceilings cornices, beautiful architraves and is crowned by an impressive balustrade. It is not surprising to find this is a classified Grade Two-Listed Building. Set in its own pleasant leafy grounds, it retains an air of bygone elegance. However, in line with its admirable adaptation to its new life as a hotel, having wide, easy access to the main road at either end of its sweeping drive and has ample parking space. The bedrooms are spacious, some or which are named after prominent people in the history of Harwich and Dovercourt. All rooms are centrally heated, and furnished to a very high standard for your personal comfort. Each room has private en-suite facilities with hairdryers, telephone and colour satellite television. There is also provision for guests to enjoy tea or coffee as early or as late as they wish. Several of the rooms can comfortably accommodate family groups. Room service will happily provide an early morning call, newspapers, or breakfast in your room should you so wish.

The Continental is a 14 Bedroom hotel overlooking the sea at Dovercourt, only minutes from Harwich International Port. All rooms are en-suite and most have sea views busy with shipping activity. All rooms have direct dial telephones with built in Modem sockets. All rooms have remote control colour teletext televisions, tea-making facilities, hair dryers and some have radios. Our hotel is understood to be the best value in the area. Constantly changing, constantly being upgraded. Non-smokers lounge. Modern originals. Excellence is our business. Ours is an unpretentious, informal atmosphere, with fully licensed and well stocked bar. Brewery-conditioned and Real Ales, Premium Lagers, Wines, all Spirits, Liqueurs and soft drinks. Restaurant with food for all tastes cooked to order, although we do have a leaning towards the vegetarian diet. We are open to non-residents daily, from breakfast to 11pm. Why not stay here in this peaceful, unspoiled English seaside location and explore Cambridge, Suffolk and the surrounding Constable country at your leisure. London is little more than an hour away.
